Koniqueka Ross Thompson

She is our fearless, stern and business savvy leader. Armed with countless certifications, 3 college degrees and an uncanny ability to “always make things work,” President Thompson continues to solidify her mark in education every day. A native of Montgomery, Alabama; she served as a Spanish Linguist Translator and Supply Clerk in the US Army after graduating from Robert E. Lee High School of Montgomery, Alabama in 1992. In 2000 she enrolled in the Cosmetology Program at H. Council Trenholm State Technical College, where she remained on the President’s List for the duration of the program and completed it in less than 2 years. She opened her first salon just 2 short months after becoming licensed and still continues to practice her craft almost 18 years later to this day. In 2007 Koniqueka once again enrolled at Trenholm to pursue certification as a Cosmetology Instructor. After completing her first semester she was recruited and granted a full scholarship to finish her studies at The Hair Academy in Montgomery, Alabama. President Thompson holds an Associate of Science in General Education, a Bachelor of Science in Resource and Technology Management as well as a Master of Science in Human Resource Management with a concentration in International Business; all from Troy University in Montgomery. She is a certified Hair Loss Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education with a concentration in Adult Education. In 2015, she founded Transitions Technical College, Inc., opening the doors with 5 students and 1 instructor, herself. In less than 5 years, she has amassed a staff and faculty of 6 and enrolled over 250 students. Needless to say, TTC, Inc. is still going strong. My mother always told us... "To whom much is given, much is required." I understand that my life doesn’t belong to me right now and that’s okay.
